Where Water Becomes Story, and Story Becomes Community.
Step right up and behold a marvel of modern-day wonder! Una the Mermaid brings audiences face-to-face with the first-of-its-kind vintage mermaid tank show in both the Pacific Northwest and the nation. This illuminated, carnival-inspired spectacle revives the magic of bygone traveling shows while weaving in Una’s signature artistry.
Since debuting her 900-gallon traveling mermaid tank in 2019, Una’s work has not only captivated audiences across festivals, parades, and events, but has also inspired a wave of other performers to create their own interpretations. Her tank has become a touchstone for modern mermaiding, sparking imagination and influencing the growth of the artform across the country.

Beyond her enchanting performances, Una holds a doctorate in psychology, is a certified swim instructor and mermaid instructor, dedicated to teaching water safety, aquatic skills, and the art of mermaiding to students of all ages. She also stars in the award-nominated full-feature film Siren’s Call which premiered at the Berlinale International Film Festival in 2025. Una is also featured in an award winning short- film entitled The Mermaid Museum. Una continues to expand her repertoire as an entertainer, educator, and event creator.

As the Founder and Tidekeeper of the Portlandia Mermaid Parade & Festival and the PNW Mermaid Confluence, Una has built a vibrant community where myth and magic thrive in real time. Her work has been featured in press, film, and countless live appearances, making her both a regional icon and a national pioneer in the mermaid arts.
